YOGA - the union between body, mind, and spirit. Welcome to a diverse community of people, some who are curious about yoga and just beginning their journey, and those that love yoga and find that it helps us to be happier, healthier, less stressed, and more able to be present for our families and friends. Everyone is welcome just as they are on their own personal journey towards greater non-judgemental self-awareness.
Classes begin with warm-up movements and breath awareness to prepare for yoga postures. The heart of each class is a sequence of postures that stretch, strengthen, and balance your body. Each class ends with deep relaxation and meditation. Lisa has Yoga Teacher Certification from Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Mass. Lisa has a special interest in working with diverse populations, guiding the yoga experience for people that might not think of themselves as "traditional yogic practitioners" as well as in corporate settings. By offering a gradient approach to the practice, new students can comfortably and safely practice side-by-side with seasoned practitioners.
Kripalu Yoga is a conscious practice of physical yoga postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques for integrating body, mind, and spirit. The 200-hour Kripalu Yoga teacher training, which conforms to the national standards of the Yoga Alliance, provides Lisa with a solid foundation in the technical skills needed to teach yoga safely and effectively. Lisa is registered with the Yoga Alliance (RYT-200) and is also CPR/AED certified through The American Heart Association.
